The Rhode Island Council on Elementary and Secondary Education voted to reappoint state education commissioner Angélica Infante-Green on Tuesday night.
The vote on granting a new three-year contract was 5-to-1.
The full state board of education must also approve the reappointment.
Infante-Green began the job in 2019.
