Senators Say Time Should Be Changing

Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey is again trying to make Daylight Saving Time permanent.

The clocks were turned back to standard time yesterday, but a bill co-sponsored by Markey would put an end to the practice.

Supporters of the proposal, which include Rhode Island US Senator Sheldon Whitenouse, say changing back to standard time disrupts people's lives.

On Twitter, Markey said we should "stop sacrificing our sunshine."

Bill supporters also say studies have shown that economic activity lags during standard time.
