Bristol Police continue to ask the public to stay away from the High Street, Oliver and Washington Street areas this morning after what now appears to be a domestic call.
Police called to the area early this morning. When they arrived at least one police cruiser was fired upon.
Officials say there are no apparent injuries. They are not releasing additional information.
WPRI News reporting this morning the gunman has been arrested.
They continue to ask people to stay out of that area because the investigation is on-going and may take several hours to conclude.
There are at least three schools in that area. All have been placed on two hour delays.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and Guiteras and Colt Andrews elementary are the only schools that have that two hour delay in place.
More details are expected through the morning.
