Pilgrim High School in Warwick has a new acting principal after a coronavirus outbreak.
Officials say the cases are linked to a November 6th homecoming dance.
The Providence Journal reports Pilgrim principal Gerald Habershaw and a large percentage of students were seen on video attending the dance without masks. Students and staff in Rhode Island public school buildings are currently required to wear masks.
Inquiries about Habershaw's status have not been answered.
The acting principal is Pamela Bernardi, a longtime Warwick School District employee.
