The Boston Bruins are getting an unexpected holiday break. The B's were scheduled to play Pittsburgh tonight and Ottawa on Wednesday, but the games have been postponed by the NHL because of coronavirus protocols. The last game the Bruins played was on December 16th. Their next game is on New Year's Day against Buffalo.
The Bruins unexpected holiday break is not the only Covid Sports News. The Military and Fenway Bowls are the latest victims of the surging COVID-19 outbreak. Both bowl games were canceled Sunday after teams were forced to pull out due to issues with COVID. Boston College was slated to face East Carolina in the Military Bowl, but the Eagles had over 40 players out due to COVID, injuries, opt-outs and transfers. Virginia faced similar issues after multiple positive COVID-19 tests asit was scheduled to play SMU in the Fenway Bowl.
