Another top official at the Rhode Island Department of Health is leaving.
Thomas McCarthy is RIDOH's deputy director and has served as the head of the state's COVID response team.
Multiple reports indicate McCarthy is starting a new position with a tech company called United Us in March.
Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott, the director of the RI Department of Health, announced her resignation last week.
Dr Scott has already said she will stay on for a short period of time to make the transition easier.
