State officials are warning residents to prepare for the possibility of a huge winter storm this weekend.
The path of the storm could still change, but heavy snow is predicted for Friday night and through Saturday.
The current National Weather Service forecast is calling for over a foot in the Boston area.
We could see a little more than that in areas of Rhode Island. Coventry, for example could get 8 to 12.
Providence could get somewhere in the neighborhood of between 12 and 18 inches.
The storm could also deliver strong winds and mild to moderate coastal flooding to the region.
Grocery stores will be busy today. But they have all said they prepared for this.
The people in the utility companies throughout the region say they are ready as well if they are needed.
