The region is bracing for what is expected to be a major snowstorm.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for much of eastern Massachusetts from late tonight through tomorrow evening.
Southeastern Massachusetts is expected to see between 12 and 18 inches of snow before the storm winds down tomorrow night.
But Rhode Island is expected to see a little bit more with 18 to 24 inches.
Wind gusts are expected to be up to 55 miles per hour, which raises concerns about possible power outages.
The utility companies are pre-positioning crews in order to get a handle on any outages but they are warning that if you lose power- it may take longer than usual to restore because of the extreme conditions.
Parking bans have been issued in various communities.
