Municipal workers in Providence who are not in compliance with the city's coronavirus vaccine policy by March first are subject to suspension.
That's according to a memo sent to all employees.
Mayor Jorge Elorza announced the policy at the end of 2021, which requires all city workers to be fully vaccinated by February 28th.
The Mayor says most city workers are vaccinated. He pegged the number at nearly 97 percent.
A City Hall memo refers to ‘progressive discipline’ for those workers who do not comply but does not suggest a range of discipline.
