Gusting Winds - Then Falling Temps For Rest Of The Day

We have had some issues with the immense winds which have been rocking the state over the last several hours.

The National Weather Service says winds between 40 and 60 miles per hour were reported throughout the evening and early morning.

There have been no reports of any significant damages. But power in some places in the state has been an issue.

At one point this morning National Grid reported some 52 hundred customers without power this morning.

Although a lot of the night was quiet, a spike in outages picked up early this morning. At one point National Grid reported 136 different outages affecting more than 56 hundred customers.

1,900 customers in Warwick

1,257 customers in Exeter

300   customers in Cumberland

240  customers in West Greenwich

National Grid says by about 9 this morning everyone should be back on the grid.

There have been no injuries reported or any reports of widespread damage.

The people in the Weather Center this morning tell us that we should be looking for a rather sharp drop in temperatures the rest of the day to the mid 30’s.

That drop may mean some black ice on the roads particularly this evening.
