In a week where we saw temperatures hit the mid sixties--now we deal with colder temps and snow.
It looks like most of Rhode Island is going to see somewhere between four and 8 inches of snow fall today- with the brunt of the storm between 4AM and 9AM. Winter storm warnings however will be in place most of the day.
A lot of the despair over snow totals centers around whether there will be--and when we will see a change over to sleet. That will likely lower snow totals but make things a bit more slippery to deal with.
State officials say more than 500 pieces of equipment will be out on the roads making sure they are as safe as they can be.
Parking bans are in place now throughout many communities in the region. Providence, Cranston and Woonsocket were among the first to put bans in place. Police throughout the state are asking you to abide by those parking bans. They can tag and tow cars that are blocking the snow removal operation. And it is a pretty hefty price tag when you figure in the ticket, the tow and storage costs as well.
