Gas Prices Rise With Little Hope For Change

Rhode Island's average gas price is up to three dollars and 74 cents, according to RIGasPrices.com.

One month ago, the average was three-42.

There is talk of the U.S. banning Russian oil imports in response to the war in Ukraine, but the White House is reportedly lukewarm to the idea because it would cause gas prices to escalate even higher.

And, there was some hope for relief at the pumps after proposals to pass a Gas Tax Holiday on the Federal and State levels.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she has reservations on that ---noting that there is no guarantee that oil companies would be passing the savings along to the consumer.
