Rhode Islanders are finally getting a break from the rapid rise of gas prices in Rhode Island. After several weeks of skyrocketing prices, the average price of a gallon of regular gas went down half a penny from Friday to Saturday. On Saturday morning (3/12) AAA of Southern New England reported an average price of $4.357. Friday's price of $4.362 was an all-time high for the state.
Last Saturday 3/5, the average price was $3.95, while the price a month ago was $3.48. One year ago, gas was just $2.74 a gallon in the Ocean State.
