A Vernont man accused of killing his mother on the high seas will remain in custody until at least Monday.
Nathan Carman was arraigned in Rutland federal court yesterday on an eight count indictment, and he pleaded not guilty.
Carman is accused of killing his mother during a fishing trip off Rhode Island in 2016 and sinking his boat in order to inherit millions of dollars she controlled.
Carmen spoke just two words as he entered the courthouse: "Not Guilty" he shouted to a battery of reporters questions as he was led into the courthouse.
A Judge will now hold a hearing on Monday to determine if bail is in order.
