The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services agency is setting an August deadline for patient care issues to be corrected at the Rhode Island state hospital.
Officials say the hospital had addressed previous non-compliance matters before new ones popped up during a couple of unannounced on-site investigations this spring.
It was determined that patients were in immediate jeopardy.
Rhode Island could lose out on millions of dollars of reimbursement money if corrections are not made.
