State Police say there is a text scam that promotes the sale of police agency t-shirts that appear to be from Rhode Island State Police and other police departments.
Authorities say if you get a text pushing t-shirt sales don't click or respond to it.
The text may read something like Rhode Island State Police shirt, ten dollars off, ready to order now.
Cops say do not click on the link provided.
Several other police departments in the state have reported the same scam.
