Heatwave Ending--Problems For Farmers Continue

A week-long heatwave is coming to an end in Southern New England.

The National Weather Service forecast for Providence calls for high temperatures in the 80s for the next seven days.

The weather service says there is a "slight" risk of severe weather in the region on Monday.

Despite the relatively good news about the weather, farmers are still up against it. Many say that showers are not what they need.
They need several days of a drenching rain to help them get quality crops to market.

Farmers say many of their crops are undersized for what they should be and the lack of rain has everything to do with that.
