Hot summer weather is returning to the Providence area as we have turned the calendars to August.
The National Weather Service says the heat index will be up to triple digits on Thursday.
There is a chance for an official heat wave this week, with actual high temperatures around 90 Tuesday and Wednesday before it cranks up.
Meantime, there is no indication that there is some substantial rain headed our way.
August, generally speaking is a dry month. The average rainfall is about three to three and a quarter inches and we may be hard press to make that.
