State Man Recovering From Jamestown Canyon Virus

The Rhode Island Department of Health is reporting a case of the mosquito-borne Jamestown Canyon virus.

The state says the person who tested positive was a resident of Washington County in his 50s who developed neurological symptoms.

The state does not identify victims of illness by specific location or names.

The patient is reportedly recovering.

RIDOH says its most recent round of testing did not find any mosquitoes carrying West Nile virus or triple-E disease.
