Heat Wave Ending- Drought To Say For A While Longer

A week-long heat wave in Southern New England is about to come to an end.

However, Tuesday could possibly be the hottest day during the wave so far, as the National Weather Service is predicting heat index values up to 104 degrees.

Most of the heat advisories in the region will dissolve tonight at 8. However, it will mean little for the drought conditions. Although there are showers and even thunderstorms that are in the forecast for later, there is not the drenching rains that the area desperately needs.

The weather service forecast high temperature for the Providence area Wednesday through Saturday is around 80 degrees daily.
