Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee says T.F. Green International Airport is gaining as many as twenty nonstop routes from Breeze Airways establishing a base of operations there.
Specific destinations were not shared during an announcement on Tuesday.
Breeze flights out of Warwick started last year.
āSince launching here a year ago, the community, the airport and the state of Rhode Island have fully embraced Breeze - making it one of our fastest growing cities,ā said Tom Doxey, President of Breeze Airways. āThe ease and convenience of flying from PVD perfectly encapsulates our āSeriously Niceā approach to air travel and weāre thrilled to expand our services from Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport in the coming years.ā
The current departure list includes Charleston, South Carolina, Jacksonville, Florida, Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia, as well as Pittsburgh.
The governor's office says Breeze is expected to apply for tax credits to help launch and support the base.
