Gas prices in the United States could rise after plans were announced by OPEC and other countries this week to slash oil production.
In Rhode Island, the average for a gallon of gas was three-dollars-and-42 cents as of this morning, according to Triple A.
One month ago, the average price in the Ocean State was three-75.
Washington County's average price comes in at $3.45 a gallon.
Kent County at $3.38 a gallon and Providence County at $3.42 a gallon.
News about spiking prices has seen many drivers ask if now the state legislature will consider a gas tax holiday to keep prices about where they are now. Lawmakers have rejected such calls in the past.
