Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee made it known during a debate on Tuesday night that his administration is planning to appeal a ruling on highway tolls for truck drivers.
A federal judge ordered the state to stop collections last month.
Companies argued it was unconstitutional to toll one class of vehicles and exempt others.
The Democratic incumbent McKee's Republican opponent, Ashley Kalus, said during the debate hosted by WPRI-TV last night that she would not appeal the decision, and claimed the state will eventually charge both trucks and cars alike.
