Housing Advocates Seek More State Help For Homeless

A deployable shelter was set up outside the Rhode Island State House today as advocates urge the state to help the homeless as winter weather sets in.

They are asking the McKee administration to find a site for 30 deployable shelters.

Advocates say each one has two beds, a heater and other amenities not usually found in a tent.

The Governor's Office says there has already been 20 million dollars in program spending to help the homeless.

There has been no comment on the latest calls for additional help.
