Rhode Islanders Are Off To The Polls

The 2022 general election has arrived in Rhode Island.

Voters are being asked to select between Democrat Dan McKee and Republican Ashley Kalus for governor.

McKee was promoted from the position of lieutenant governor when Gina Raimondo departed for Washington to be President Biden's Commerce Secretary last year.

Longtime Rhode Island 2nd Congressional District Representative Jim Langevin is retiring, which has left the seat representing most of the state west of Route 295 open to former Cranston mayor Allan Fung, a Republican, and Democratic candidate Seth Magaziner, the state's current treasurer.

There are also a slew of questions on Rhode Island ballots. Across the state, there are three bonding questions.
In various communities there are local issues to be decided. Many deal with recreational licenses for marijuana.

The polls close tonight at 8. That is when our Election Coverage begins right here on Newsradio RI.
