The National Weather Service says the impacts of former Hurricane Nicole will impact Southern New England beginning Friday afternoon.
The weather service says the primary threat from the storm system will be gusty winds of up to 55 miles per hour.
Most places in the region are expected to pick up at least one inch of rain from tonight into Saturday morning.
Most DPW's in the state have asked residents while they can to remove leaves from storm drains to eliminate any chance of localized flooding.
