People across the region are being given more time to get a REAL ID.
The deadline has been extended another two years to May 7th, 2025.
By that date, everyone will need the new driver's license or identification card to fly within the country.
The DMV has been accepting documents online.
Those may be approved in advance and followed up by verification in-person at an office.
Appointments are still recommended.
Federal officials say the extra time is needed to deal with the backlog created by the pandemic.
