Governor Dan McKee and his new housing secretary Stefan Pryor met with residents on Tuesday at King Street Commons, a development in the Olneyville section of Providence which opened two years ago.
Pryor, the former Rhode Island commerce secretary, was appointed to the new role after Josh Saal resigned last month.
Saal was the state's first-ever housing secretary who was criticized for his handling of housing and homelessness issues.
Pryor said yesterday that the Ocean State needs to increase its rate of home production at every income level. He says it is the key to job and business expansion down the road.
