What's The Next Step In Stalled School Bus Driver Talks In Providence?

There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding the negotiations for First Student Bus Drivers, as they seek a new contract with the city of Providence. And, it is keeping parents and students guessing as to how they are going to get students to school.

The bus drivers over the weekend rejected a proposal from the company, but postponed going on strike while both sides considered a next move. But the drivers say they have not taken the strike threat off the table.

The next threat of a strike though will be on Wednesday according to union leaders. It is unclear however whether the two sides will meet face to face or exchange proposals.

Union leaders have said throughout the entire process that their rank and file drivers deserve a livable wage.

First Union meantime says it has been negotiating in good faith since the start of the talks. Talks began in the summer.

Meantime, school officials say simply that they are monitoring the situation just like everyone else,
