The rescue of a seagull in Westerly is sparking a conversation about littering.
The seagull was found in distress in Watch Hill with a plastic bag tightly wrapped around its neck on Sunday.
Two good Samaritans were able to cut it loose.
The Audubon Society of Rhode Island says seagulls can be aggressive, so if you come across one in a similar situation in the future, it might be better to let animal control or the DEM handle the issue.
