Fenway-Field Of Dreams For 2023 Turn Around

Opening day is finally here in Major League Baseball and for the Boston Red Sox it brings new hope, new rules and some new things to experience.

Many have talked about the bigger bases, the end to the infield shift and the pitch clock, but there will be other things to have to deal with. Gone are the days when the Red Sox and Yankees battled each other 19 times. This year the Sox will take on Tampa, Toronto, Baltimore and New York a total of 13 times. The first time the Yankees and Red Sox play this year won’t happen until June.

The Red Sox will open the season this Thursday afternoon against the Baltimore Orioles. The first pitch is set for about 2:10pm. The Sox, which finished last in the AL East with a record of 78 and 84, 21 games out of first place, will start Corey Kluber. It will be the first time in four years that he will pitch opening day.

There will be a flyover during the National Anthem. It will be provided by the Westover 104th Fighter Wing and include a four-aircraft flight, two F-35As and two F-15Cs.

Fenway has gone through some renovations during the off-season. When taking the family you will see interactive displays for the kids, a revamped concourse all while keeping capacity at Fenway the very same-37,305.
