State Lawmaker To Drive Debate On Illegal Dirt Bikes In Legislature

Hours after the Providence Mayor announced a new task force to crack down on illegal dirt bikes, comes word that State Rep Charlene Lima will re-introduce a measure calling for what she refers to as ATV Terrorists.

It is a bill that deals with illegal dirt bikes in the city, something that is among the top "quality of life" issues for sometime.

The bill calls for tough sentences, even for first time offenders.

Thirty days in jail and 150 hours of community service for the first offense.

Six months for subsequent offenses.

Plus the vehicles would be confiscated.

So far the bill has not been scheduled for a hearing yet.
