Bruins-Two Games Left, Then On To Stanley Cup Playoffs

The Boston Bruins are making NHL history.

They beat the Flyers 5-3 in Philadelphia Sunday to secure their 63rd victory of the season, which is a new league record for most regular season wins.

The record was previously held by the 1995-96 Detroit Red Wings and 2018-19 Tampa Bay Lightning. David Pastrnak scored a hat trick en route to his 60th goal of the year.

The last Bruins player to reach 60 or more goals in a season was Phil Esposito back in 1975. Boston is also two points shy of breaking the record for most points earned in an NHL season.

The Montreal Canadians put up 132 in the 1976-77 season.

The Bruins have two games left to play.

Tuesday they will host Washington.

They finish the regular season Thursday in Montreal.
