A-G Silent On "No Bill" From Grand Jury

The state of Rhode Island is not pursuing murder charges in connection to a man's death in Little Compton.

The homicide case was opened after it was determined that 47-year-old Steven Velozo of Swansea, Massachusetts died from "mechanical asphyxia" at a home on Pottersville Road last October.

Attorney General Peter Neronha's office says a grand jury determined no criminal charges should be filed.

Velozo's death marked Little Compton's first homicide case since 1999.

Neronha says he won't comment on the action of the grand jury since those proceedings are done in secret,
