A Rhode Island Public Transit Authority committee on Wednesday unanimously recommended a one-year extension for CEO Scott Avedisian.
The former Warwick mayor's contract at the transit agency is set to expire at the end of this month.
RIPTA's full board of directors is set to vote on the extension on May 17th.
Back in March, Rhode Island Senate President Dominick Ruggerio said he wanted Avedisian to resign, and he was grilled by the Senate Oversight Committee.
