RI SPCA Struggles Helping Dogs Found In Tiverton Home

The seizure of about three-dozen dogs from a Tiverton home this week is putting a strain on resources at the Rhode Island SPCA.

The East Providence-based animal shelter says it could possibly remain closed throughout the weekend to tend to the animals.

The owner of the unlicensed dog rescue has apologized for the incident, and said they became overwhelmed.

No charges have been filed at this point but that is expected to change.

They say the animals will be available for forever homes in the near future.
