The Barrington School District is reaching a settlement with three teachers who sued after they were fired for refusing to get COVID-19 vaccinations.
The settlement awards nearly a half-million dollars to Stephanie Hines, Kerri Thurber and Brittany DiOrio and allows them to take back their old jobs if they want.
The teachers claimed religious exemptions, but those claims had been rejected by the school committee.
Barrington was one of only two Rhode Island school districts that adopted a policy requiring COVID shots for all employees.
