It's a sight commonly seen in beach towns: people driving golf carts on the streets.
Now, Rhode Island is legalizing the use of these "low-speed vehicles".
Rhode Island was one of only three states which had not adopted legislation governing use of L-S-V's.
You will still need a driver's license to operate them on surface roads with posted speed limits of 35 miles per hour or less.
The law will take effect next July.
