Fortuitous Partners, the developer working with the state of Rhode Island and the city of Pawtucket on a new soccer stadium, now says it has raised enough money to complete the project.
Construction on the Seekonk River-front stadium has stalled after work on the foundation began last winter. But, now residents will see some action at the site as officials have raised more than 14 million dollars to keep the project going.
Brett Johnson, the founder of Fortuitous and the chairman of Rhode Island Football Club, provided the investment update on Wednesday.
Rhode Island F.C. is planning to make its debut in 2024 at Bryant University's stadium in Smithfield.
