The Smithfield Little League team is in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania where they are getting ready for their first round World Series game against Nevada on Wednesday.
Now the push is on to help pay for the trip.
A couple of state lawmakers have already pledged a thousand dollars apiece to defray costs.
House Speaker Joseph Shekarchi and State Rep Greg Constantino challenging other state politicians to follow suit.
There will be a "drive-through fund raiser" for the team Monday afternoon from three until six at the Deerfield Park/Senior Center in Smithfield.
The team is on a three-game winning streak and will play Wednesday afternoon at 3pm. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
