The Rhode Island Department of Health is recommending that everyone six months of age and older receive the updated 2023-2024 coronavirus vaccine.
Officials say just like the flu, the virus that causes COVID-19 is always changing, and protection from previous shots will be reduced over time.
RIDOH says the new COVID vaccines will become increasingly available over the next several weeks at pharmacies and other locations.
