A Providence man is being sentenced to federal prison for a series of bank robberies.
The Justice Department says Dashawn Diaz robbed Santander, T.D. Bank, and Citizens Bank branches in Providence, East Providence and Pawtucket.
The string of robberies took place in January and February 2022.
Diaz received a prison sentence of two-and-a-half years, and he was ordered to pay nearly 16-thousand dollars in restitution.
