The inspector who marked the Harborside Inn kitchen fire suppression system as falsely compliant before the Block Island business was destroyed by a fire last month has had his license revoked, according to a report from WPRI.
Peter Freund, who owns the company Emergency Services of New England, reportedly admitted that he gave the system a pass despite advising the building owner there were components which could malfunction.
Freund also admitted he took the same action for two other businesses on the Island, which were ordered by the state to make an immediate fix.
Criminal charges are not expected to be filed in connection to the Harborside fire, since the blaze was ruled accidental.
