A Central Falls murder suspect is in custody. Thirty-nine-year-old Luis Lopez of Pawtucket allegedly shot and killed 27-year-old Emmanuel Torres Plaza Saturday night. Lopez was arrested a short time after the shooting in Plainville, Massachusetts, armed with two guns, and in possession of a bulletproof vest and a mask. Police believe the victim was targeted but they have not said anything publicly about a motive.
A Providence man is being sentenced to life in state prison for a murder. Prosecutors alleged Nathan Cooper shot his girlfriend, Sherbert Maddox, at their residence on Parkis Avenue. A gruesome discovery was made at the residence on March 22nd, 2022, when Maddox's body was found wrapped in plastic, blankets and towels inside of a refrigerator.
Police have arrested a suspect in a deadly stabbing in Cumberland. Robert Perry was reportedly picked up on Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder. Perry allegedly stabbed Otis Diggs during an altercation last weekend at a home on Front Street.
