The Rhode Island Attorney General's Office is joining the state fire marshal in the investigation of the Harborside Inn fire on Block Island.
A spokesperson says the fire marshal's report will be reviewed to determine if there was any criminal conduct.
According to the Providence Journal the fire marshal said the hotel's kitchen fire suppression system was marked as "compliant" by an inspector, but the system failed to stop the blaze that started on August 18th.
The state has revoked the license of that inspector, Peter Freund [[ froond ]], who owns the company Emergency Services of New England.
