An East Greenwich man has been convicted for a scam.
The Rhode Island Attorney General's Office says John Santilli defrauded a British investor of one-hundred-thousand dollars by telling him his entertainment company would produce a remake of the 1990s HBO series "Tales from the Crypt".
The investor reached out to friends in the film industry and discovered he had been duped.
Prosecutors say Santilli blew the cash at regional casinos. Sentencing is set to take place on December 8th.
