Residents of Canterbury Village in North Providence are being hit with 24-hour eviction notices.
A deadline of 3 p.m. Tuesday has been set for the condominium tenants to pack up their belongings and leave.
North Providence Mayor Charles Lombardi blamed owner Vista Management for allowing deplorable conditions in the units.
Lombardi said a pipe burst back in February which caused significant damage.
Vista was not immediately available for comment.
The fire department has called in the American Red Cross to assist those who are being displaced.
