A solemn anniversary and a continued plea for help.
The family of Holly Piirainen is asking anyone who may know, or even think they know of anything related to the case to call authorities.
It was 30 years ago this week that Holly’s body was found in a wooded area in Brimfield. She was ten years old at the time and would have been 40 this year.
Holly and her father were vacationing with other family members at a cottage in Sturbridge.
She left the cottage to play in the area of South Shore Road with some puppies.
She never returned.
A search of the area conducted by Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut State Police produced no results.
DA Anthony Gulluni says, “The Piirainen family has been coping with this tragedy for thirty years. Along with Holly’s family, I, members of my office, and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the case have never stopped investigating to bring justice to Holly and her family. We continue to ask members of the public who may have any information please contact us.”
The DA says they will never stop looking for her killer.
Anyone with information is asked to call Massachusetts State Police at 413-505-5993.
Or use Text-A-Tip by texting the word CRIMES (274637) and type the word SOLVE into the body of the message followed by your tip.
