Cranston Mayor Sets Stage For Re-Election

Cranston Mayor Kenneth Hopkins is a step closer to making his bid for re-election in 2024 official.

The Hopkins campaign has invited residents to a fundraiser, where he is expected to make the announcement.

In the letter, the Republican Hopkins says he plans to focus on the city's fiscal state, safe neighborhoods, and education.

He also warns about the gain that would occur for Democrats if they get the mayor's office.

Hopkins may face a primary opponent: Rep. Barbara Ann Fenton-Fung, the wife of former mayor Allan Fung is considering a run.
