A Rhode Island man has been charged in connection with threats made that caused an airline flight to make an emergency landing Tuesday.
Authorities say 41-year-old Evan Sims got into an argument with his traveling companion on a Breeze Airways flight bound from Orlando to T.F. Green International Airport in Providence.
Sims reportedly made comments about hoping the plane would quote, "go down," and then announced he had a bomb in his possession.
The flight was forced to divert to Jacksonville where Sims was arrested.
He is charged with false information and threats; he faces up to five years in federal prison if found guilty.
